CHENKORYA WINS WORLDVISION 19!!!!

Tonight saw Chenkorya take victory on home soil in the 19th WorldVision Song Contest. 34 nations competed but were unable to beat Chenkorya's Ebba and the song "Porcelain".

Kingsley Bedford's Alexi Controvesian came 3rd with the song "We Were Worlds Apart" earning 98 points, including 12 points from 2 nations (Luspice & Civil Citizenry)

Rugenia lost their record of consecutive wins and top 5 places after finishing a dismal 15th with 52 points.

BREAKING NEWS: ELECTION DATE ANNOUNCED

Today Kingfordian president Yuliana Pashkchenko announced the date for the upcoming presidential elections in which she will run against opposition leader Mikhail Aruthyan Jr, the son of slain former president Mikhail Aruthyan, for a second term in office.

The assigned date is to be set for December 30th 2011 and the winner will take office at midnight Jan 1st 2012 as the new year rings in. The opinion polls currently show a tight race with Yuliana with 50.1% of the prediction poll and 49.9% to Mikhail Aruthyan jr.

KINGFORDIAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION UNDERWAY

Kingfordians are heading to polling booths all over the country to decide the next president of KB. Yuliana Pashkchenko is attemting to get a 2nd term in office against Mikhail Aruthyan Jr. (the son of slain pres Mikhail Aruthyan).

The faveourite is currently Yuliana Pashkchenko, but anything can change. We'll have regular updates right here on KNA

BREAKING NEWS: YULIANA PASHKCHENKO WINS PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

The result of the Kingfordian election is known. Yuliana Pashkchenko has won the election and a second term in office after defeating Mikhail Aruthyan Jr. with 60% of the vote.

While Yuliana's win was predicted by most, the vote was very close at times during the voting and did not resemble the landslide result that Yuliana recieved in the previous election. However she remains very popular both in KB and internationally.

Yuliana has also confirmed that Mikhail Aruthyan Jr. can be assured he still will have the position of foreign affairs minister.

SPECIAL BROADCAST: Press Conference, LIVE FROM SIRUSHOSTAN

President Yuliana Pashkchenko is about to make a statement at a live press conference:

Good Afternoon members of the press, special guests and citizens of the Kingfordian Republic,
I called this conference today to address the claims apprently made about my opponent and his mother. I am here to state my disgust in the media outlet which not only tried to publish a lie that could put me in an awkward place, let alone with international anger.

I did not make any such claims. The Kingfordian news website "Kingfordian post.net" made claims that the president of Lanos is insane and that I was using that during my campaign. This also is not true. I have never used such tactics to campaign.

To make up lies about me is one thing... I don't care, I know what is true about me and what isn't. But to target the Aruthyan family, is disgusting and the website owners should be ashamed. They were referring to our first president's widow in the insanity claims. Such a thing is unacceptable. Let alone trying to ruin the chances of their son.

As the site is privately owned, I cannot interfere with what they write due to freedom of expression in KB. However, I can force them to make a public statement. Something which I am able to do today.... So here today is the chief blogger of the site to make a public statement.

Our claims were false and should never have been made. We showed utter disrespect to the relatives of a national hero, something that we are very ashamed of. We promise this will never happen again.

PONY SUMMIT REACHES BREAKTHROUGH

The summit between the Lanosian and Kingfordian governments about recognition of ponyism and ponies as sapient beings has reached a breakthrough for both delegations.

Lanosian president Marina Aruthyan, the widow of assassinated Kingfordian president Mikhail Aruthyan, has agreed to visit Kingsley Bedford to finish the final stages of the summit. Accompanying her will be her husband Richard and her adopted pony daughter Lily. It is reported Marina will meet with President Yuliana Pashkchenko and visit parliament, where she will convince the members that ponyism should be recognised and introduce Lily to them in an attempt to convince the sapience of ponies and to exclude them from quarantine law. Yuliana Pashkchenko is reported to already have met Lily via a webcam chat and invited Lily to Kingsley Bedford personally.

Tension is particularly high between Pres Aruthyan and Pres Pashkchenko over the summit after a report was published by Lanosian media, claiming Marina had walked out of day 1's discussions after a question was asked by Yuliana who wasn't present and joined via webcam link. She had reportedly sent Kingfordian foreign minister Mikhail Aruthyan Jr. The son of the first Kingfordian president, Mikhail Aruthyan Sr.who was killed in front of his home by unknown assassins in 2009.

MARINA VS YULIANA?

While the Lanosians complained about Kingfordian media's comments during the election that falsely claimed Yuliana Pashkchenko made comments suggesting voters shouldn't vote for Mikhail Aruthyan Jr. due to his mother's recent adoption of a pony and claims she was insane, and would reflect upon her son as leader, yet they can handle dishing it out genuinely to us.

The comments made were never said by Yuliana, infact a blog that was privately owned published comments, claiming they came from the president when this was not true. But now a newspost from Lanosian media has Kingfordians appaled.

Following a breakdown in communication on day one of the pony summit, Lanosian news agency HNN broadcast a long statement that was centred at Yuliana.

The news agency described her as "displaying ignorance and contempt" for Marina Aruthyan. A little hypocrticial some might say. Others may say Yuliana may still be offended by earlier conflict before the summit.

But worse, The Lanosians have claimed that Yuliana is not competent enough to run a country and were finding it suspicious that Kingfordians would choose to elect her. Obviously the Lanosians are forgetting some of the leaders they elected previously.

Yuliana has urged the Kingfordian people to not react to these reports during the Lanosian-Kingfordian Summit group's meetings in Kingsley Bedford as she has since then made progress with Marina and wishes for their time in the homeland of her son and ex-husband. She has stated she has "no intention of responding in any negative way to this article as she knows progress is being made diplomatically and feels there is currently no aggression between Marina and herself and cannot wait to meet her daughter Lily upon arrival in Kingsley Bedford"

Things reportedly improved during day 2, and the article in question was published beforehand. Therefore it is believed the Kingfordian government did not take the criticism of Yuliana Pashkchenko's leadership ability as a personal act of aggression due to the events of day 2's important communication breakthrough and first sign of a solution had not yet occured when the article was published.

The summit between KB & Lanos has come to Kingsley Bedford, with the Lanosian and Enpolian delegations having arrived a short time ago.
Lanosian president Marina Aruthyan and her new husband Richard have arrived in Kingsley Bedford with their pony daughter Lily (who is reportedly approx five months old).

This is the first time Marina has been back in KB after returning to her country of birth to serve as their president a few years ago. Lily has never been to KB and is reported to be excited about seeing the country.

Parliament will travel to Harani for a special session where Marina will have a chance to convince parliament to recognise ponies as sapient beings and to be exempt from the customs law on detention for 48 hrs. Lily is also to speak to the parliament members from the pony perspective according to her older brother (from Marina's first marriage to our former pres Mikhail Aruthyan) Mikhail Aruthyan Jr. , the opposition leader of KB and current foreign affairs minister.

Foreign Sources Report Causes possible tension to Summit


A foreign news agency has reported on the KB leg of the Pony summit. A breakthrough has been reached between Lanos and KB, but now a foreign news agency could change everything after a report claiming that the pony daughter of Lanosian President Marina Aruthyan is being exploited. Which is far from the case.

The report comes from the Triptych's Centel News Sourcel:

The Kingfordian-Lanosian summit originally hosted in Enpolintoc has been relocated to Kingsley Bedford after reaching some success in the talks. The Cesarica and the Triptych foreign minister are both confirmed as in attendance of this second summit. Though no official comments have yet been made, Her Grace's presence is speculated as a neutral peacekeeping one.

The summits have drawn some criticism from some groups, who claim that whilst the talks are intended to grant equestrian sapients equal rights, it only appears to address the controversial Kingfordian customs law which currently holds animals in detention for 48 hours as part of a screening procedure. Other groups such as the Enpolian First group believe Enpolintoc should pull out from the summit and stay completely neutral. The Equal Rights for All Sapients organisation have expressed concern over the expections and demands on the equestrian called Lily, who despite being only approximately five months old is expected to speak to the Kingfordian parliament. A suspected inside source gave us this statement.

"Lily, as she is called, is a very young child, with limited if any true understanding of the political situation here. Couple that with her poor grasp of the English language and the questionable state of her mother so to speak and you have something akin to a comedy sketch. It is absurd. Why is the Triptych getting involved in such nonsense? We have a collapsed nation we are currently trying to rebuild, we have Romburyan that we're trying to repair and keep afloat, we have rising organised crime and corruption. Yet a talking pony and whether or not it's an animal is what our government has chosen to become so focused on? We really care that much about whether some animal has to wait a bit to enter a country it probably won't visit that often if at all? The Triptych needs to get it's priorities straight and frankly, so does Yuliana's government and Marina's."

The source refused to give any details regarding their identity, choosing to remain anonymous. Comments made by Chief of Security Kisha Antellev during the first summit and reported by the Lanosian media are said to be "grossly exaggerated and taken out of context" by Triptych Public Relations minister Gerald Krowley, adding that her comments were not as "confrontational" as portrayed.

This report has now triggered a response from Kingfordian President Yuliana Pashkchenko who is shocked that the Triptych would be risking such a thing while serving as a neutral mediator on the subject.

"The reports from the news agency in question couldn't have come at a more crucial time of the summit. We are finally makng progress but this could cause a setback if it contnues. The comments about the Lanosian president and her daughter Lily were unnessesary and found that Lily's grasp of the English language was very advanced for a 5 month old.

Lily is not being exploited. She had infact told me she wanted to come here just to tell people about herself, ponies and her mother. She has not been forced and she suggested the whole thing in the first place."

President Pashkchenko and her cabinet will meet with Marina and Lily today to discuss the issue of pony rights and KNA will be present to keep you updated so please keep watching.... we'll be reporting shortly.

[b]BREAKING NEWS: CABINET MEETS AT DACHA

The Kingfordian cabinet travelled today to Harani province to meet with the Lanosian delegation. It is understood Lily is talking to the about ponies and is answering questions asked by the cabinet. She's described by Yuliana as intelligent and adorable. Lily also spent some time happily greeting the cabinet members and giving hugs to both her mother and older brother, and at one point... even President Pashkchenko

The cabinet has returned to Sirushostan whilst the leaders directly negociate a solution to the matter. Hopefully this will be the first step in solving the issue.
